Community members, friends and neighboors gathered and enjoyed early Thanksgiving dinners at Raindrop Turkish House on 20th and 22nd of November. Dialog Institute and Raindrop Foundation teamed up to host the meal together for the purpose of uniting community members on a common value like thanksgiving. More than 200 guests from various cultural and faith backgrounds attended the event for both night.
The dinner was served from 6p.m to 8p.m; however, many of the guests have stayed until after 9p.m thanks to sincere dialogs around the tables. The event was open to all members of the community.
As a long buffet line moved through the foyer inside the Raindrop Foundation, guests enjoyed an assorted menu of traditional thanksgiving dishes, turkey and gravy, along with several examples of Turkish cuisine including Baklava.
After the thanksgiving dinner, there was a surprise concert by Worldwide famous guitarist Celil Refik Kaya and incredibly talente flute player Meghan Benneth. Everyone joined them to sign songs.
Several among the volunteers expressed their greatest gratification that night was not brought by the chance to eventually sit down and enjoy what was left of the Thanksgiving feast, but delivered, instead, in the cheerful smiles and pleased face of the guests they had just had the privilege to serve
